In English, we learn spelling, grammar and lots of other things. we have something called reading counts. Our teacher, Mrs. Kanzler, makes us read 100,000 words for the first two quarters and for the last two we have to read 150,000 words. Every week, we set a goal for ourselves that we can actually accomplish in that week. At the end of the week we reflect on our goal.

This was something that we did in core class for english. It was based on the book Shabanu by Suzanne Fisher Staples. When our teacher said the word we had to type it in and type what first came to mind. As you can see, my mind is pretty good at some places but at some not so good.
This helped my brain because i had to think fast. I would call this activity an icebreaker. This really helped me because now when I see a word I can picture that word in my mind. This also helped with my typing skills because we had to type really fast in order to do this. I think this was a really good way to make our brain think.
